Terms of Service
Operated by Xolani Tlhapi (Pty) Ltd. Please read carefully — by using Kicks & Drip Wash you agree to these Terms.
1.Who We Are and What the App Does
Kicks & Drip Wash is operated by Xolani Tlhapi (Pty) Ltd (“Kicks & Drip Wash”, “we”, “us”). We operate a technology platform connecting you (the customer) with independent laundry and sneaker-care businesses (“Service Businesses”) and independent delivery drivers (“Drivers”). Kicks & Drip Wash is a marketplace only: we do not perform cleaning services and do not own or operate delivery vehicles.
2.Acceptance of These Terms
By creating an account or placing an order through the Platform, you confirm that you are 18 years or older (or acting with parental or guardian consent if under 18), that you have read and accept these Terms, and that you accept our Privacy Policy available at kicksdrip.com/privacy.
3.How Orders Work
3.1 Select a Service Business from the Platform listing, choose a service, and confirm your pickup address and preferred time slot.
3.2 A pickup driver will be dispatched to collect your items. A second, independently-assigned driver will return your items after cleaning.
3.3 You will receive real-time status updates (Pickup Assigned, At Business, In Cleaning, Out for Delivery, Delivered). A delivery verification code will be shown to you in the app and must be shared with the delivery driver to complete the handover.
3.4 Estimated turnaround times are set by the Service Business. Kicks & Drip Wash does not guarantee specific completion times but will notify you of delays where possible.
4.Pricing, Payments, and Fees
4.1 The service price is set by the Service Business and displayed before you confirm your order. A delivery fee covering both the pickup and return delivery legs is added at checkout and calculated based on distance.
4.2 Payment is processed in-app at the time of order placement. By placing an order you authorise the total charge shown at checkout.
4.3 Promotional or discount codes may be applied at checkout where applicable and are subject to their own terms and expiry dates.
4.4 We do not store your full payment card details on our servers. Payment processing is handled by a certified third-party payment provider.
5.Cancellations and Refunds
5.1 You may cancel an order without charge before a driver has been assigned to the pickup leg. Once a driver has been assigned, a cancellation fee applies to cover the driver’s dispatch cost.
5.2 If an item is lost while in transit or damaged during the cleaning process, you may lodge a Refund Request through the app within 48 hours of the order’s delivery timestamp. We will investigate and respond within 10 business days.
5.3 Refunds for verified loss or damage during cleaning will be directed at the Service Business’s liability. Refunds for verified transit damage will be directed at the relevant Driver’s liability. Our aggregate liability to you in any single incident is limited to the total amount you paid for that order.
5.4 Kicks & Drip Wash is not liable for normal wear and tear, pre-existing damage you failed to disclose at collection, damage to items sent without informing us of special care requirements, or loss of items collected outside the Platform.
6.Your Responsibilities
You agree to: ensure items put out for collection are only those you own or are authorised to submit; disclose special care requirements (such as hand-wash only, dry-clean only, delicate soles) at booking; be available at the pickup address within the driver’s arrival window; share the in-app delivery verification code only with the confirmed delivery driver; and use the Platform only for personal, non-commercial laundry and sneaker-care purposes.
7.Prohibited Use
You may not use the Platform to submit hazardous materials, narcotics, weapons, stolen goods, or any items prohibited under South African law. We reserve the right to refuse, cancel, or suspend orders and accounts where this clause is breached, without liability or refund.
8.Ratings and Reviews
After each completed order, you may rate the Service Business and each Driver separately on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Ratings are used to maintain platform quality. You must not submit false, defamatory, or malicious reviews. We may remove reviews that breach this clause.
9.Privacy and Your Data
We collect and process your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA) and our Privacy Policy at kicksdrip.com/privacy. Your address is shared with your assigned Driver only for the duration of the specific order and only to the extent needed to complete the delivery.
10.Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 and other applicable law: Kicks & Drip Wash is not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special loss arising from use of the Platform; our total liability for any direct loss in connection with a single order is capped at the amount you paid for that order; and nothing in these Terms limits our liability for fraud, gross negligence, or personal injury caused by our negligence.
11.Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you via the app or by email at least 7 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
12.Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. If a dispute cannot be resolved through our in-app support process, the Parties agree to attempt mediation before commencing litigation. The Consumer Protection Act’s dispute provisions apply where applicable.
